Timothy “Bo Bo” James Fowler, age 54, of Bessemer City passed away after a brief illness on Monday, May 19, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. He was born February 3, 1971, the son of the late James “Larry” and Judy Gail Haun Fowler. Bo Bo worked in auto body repair and paint and was of the Christian faith, fostering a warm and welcoming presence wherever he went. A true social butterfly, Bo Bo thrived in gatherings, often lighting up the atmosphere with his lively back seat karaoke performances, especially when "The Ballad of Curtis Loew" by Lynyrd Skynyrd played. Bo Bo was an enthusiastic sports fan, proudly cheering for the Tar Heels and Redskins. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his uncle Mike Haun and brother-in-law Eric Carter.
Those left to cherish his memories include the love of his life for 15 years Alicia Whisnant; step-sons Michael, Tyler, and JT Burnett; sisters Kim Carter and Robin Chaney (Jeff); grandson Aulbin Burnett; aunts and uncles Tommy Fowler (Susan), Vickie Haun, and Barbara Isenhour (Roger); first cousin and best friend Jason Jenkins; nieces and nephews Lindsay Cagle, Payton Howell (Jeremy), Bleu Carter (Darian), Hailey Childers, Abbey Carter (Brooke); and Hunter Carter (Elizabeth); great nieces and nephews Aydan, Saylor, Jeremiah, Blakeley, Gracelyn, and Gator; along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends that loved him dearly.
A family led celebration of life service for Bo Bo will be from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Fairview Baptist Church, 1706 West Davidson Ave., Gastonia, NC 28052.
Inurnment will be with the family.
