Susan Diane Tamburo

Susan Diane Tamburo, age 68, of Lincolnton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at her residence. She was born on February 15, 1957, in Miami, FL, the daughter of the late Ignatius Mathis and Mary Jane Morgan Tamburo. During her career, Susan worked as a manager in the restaurant industry. She was selfless, with one of the biggest, most giving hearts. She stayed open-minded and had a great spirit about her—always smiling, happy, and enjoying making everyone laugh. Susan had a great sense of humor and was always being silly and having fun with her family. Her family was her life. She provided, protected, and would do everything she could for them. To know her was to love her. Susan would plan any celebration just to bring her family together. She was the core, the rock, and the glue of the family. Along with her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her daughter Cherie Parr, brother-in-law Edward Chapman, and sister Theresa Pajaro.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children Cynthia Bell (Justin), Brandon Tamburo, and Shana Ahmed; sisters Linda Chapman and Donna Chapman (Dale); grandchildren Preston and Justin Taylor, Jackson Bell, and Austin Parr; great-grandchildren Caroline, Violet, Charlotte, and Chase; along with a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home in Bessemer City. A memorial service to celebrate Susan’s life will follow in the chapel at 2:30 pm, with Preacher Preston Taylor officiating. Inurnment will be with the family.
