Sharon Lynn Summey Breedlove

Sharon Lynn Summey Breedlove, age 60, of Kings Mountain passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 6, 1964, in Gaston County, the daughter of the late James Troy and Gladys Picklesimer Summey. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Her warm and welcoming spirit made everyone feel like family. She had a true passion for cooking, her family often remarked that every meal she prepared was delicious. Sharon found joy in painting, and had a particular fondness for flowers, especially roses. She will greatly be missed but will forever be in our hearts. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Krystal McKinney.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 46 years Terry Lee Breedlove, Sr.; son Terry Lee Breedlove, Jr. (Christina); brothers Ronnie Summey (Susan) and Ricky Summey; sisters Debbie Markwalter (Kenny), Brenda Wolff (Bobby), and Ginger Henderson (Vince); grandchildren Zackary, Corey (Taylor), Aleigha, Hailee, Dylan, and Ethan; great-grandchildren Liam and one on the way, Raelynn; and a special caregiver and friend Cheryl Dowell; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

There will be a family-led memorial service to celebrate Sharon’s life held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Belmont Congregational Holiness Church: 4100 Pine Street, Gastonia, NC.
