Robbie Lynn Gifford, Sr.

Robbie Gifford, 69, of Shelby, passed away at home on March 19, 2025. He was born on October 26, 1955, in Mahoning County, Ohio to the late John Williams Gifford and Floy Marie Fowler Gifford.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Ward Gifford; son, Robbie Lynn Gifford, Jr; great, great grandson, Gabriel Gifford; brother, Jack Gifford; sister, Ida Gregory.

Robbie enjoyed spending his days working on cars, fishing or spending time with friends and family. He loved being a part of Arden Garage where he was a mechanic for over three decades. He loved that old garage, and he loved his best friend, David Lance, of many years. Robbie was a man of still waters. His relationship with the Lord ran deep. He was the rock to many people during very difficult periods of their lives. Right to the very end during his struggles with cancer, he was receiving new people into his life and emitted love to anybody he encountered. He was a man with a heart of gold and his hard working hands are finally able to rest.

Family members left to cherish his memories include his son, Tony Gifford (Sharlene); step-daughters, Shanda Smith (Jack), and Mandy Justus (Navada); former wife of 34 years, Judy Gifford Reynolds; sisters, Vera Michael, and Brenda Gifford; grandchildren, Ashley Smart (Kyle), Michelle Conard, Brandon Gifford (Alicia), Tyler Gifford (Elisha), Avery Gifford (Mary-Jo), and Dakota Gifford; great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Isaiah, Adalynn, Zakia, Brayden, and Eli; great, great grandchild, Emersyn; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Progress Baptist Church, 1935 N Rugby Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28791 on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

Robbie’s Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Doug Raynes officiating.

Inurnment will be with the family.
