Mack Blair Jenkins, age 80, of Bessemer City passed away on May 08, 2025, at Caromont Regional Hospital. He was born on July 5, 1944, to the late Avery Rowe Jenkins and Emma Bell Goforth.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Nathan Jenkins; brothers, Doug Jenkins and Joe Jenkins; and brother-in-law, Johnny Oates (Cleo).
Mack was a member for over 50 years and a deacon at Pisgah ARP Church, Gastonia. He served in the National Guard. He enjoyed volunteering at multiple places for various causes. He loved woodworking, golf, antique cars, and watching cowboy shows. Mack enjoyed working in his vegetable garden. He was a fierce animal lover, especially dogs. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to all. He will be deeply missed in the community.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Susan Oates Jenkins; sons, Seth Jenkins (Dr. Sarah), and Paul Jenkins; brothers, Dewey Jenkins (Joy), Dennis Goforth (Lou Ann), and Gary Jenkins (Edith); sisters, Sara Cash, Jerri Stinnett, Lauretta Carawan, and Brenda McNeely (David); brother-in-law, Henry Oates (Barbara); grandchildren, Drew Jenkins, and Ada Hartge; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mack’s memorial service will be 4:00 pm at Pisgah ARP Church, 3600 Linwood Road., Gastonia on Sunday, May 11, 2025, with Reverend Bobby Duran officiating.
A visitation and a reception will follow the service in the Elliott Center of the church.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
