Larry Lee Walton, age 56, of Bessemer City, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Carolinas Medical Center. Larry was born on July 17, 1968, in Lakewood, Ohio. From an early age, he developed a remarkable work ethic that led him to become a skilled roofer. Larry's passion emerged during weekends cruising on his beloved Harley-Davidson. He had a magnetic personality that drew people in; being around him felt like a warm embrace. Larry was the kind of friend everyone wished they had—his infectious smile could brighten even the gloomiest days. Known for his kindness and generosity, he would often give selflessly, never once seeking recognition for himself. His sense of humor was legendary among friends and family; he had an endless repertoire of the best dad jokes and a passion for cooking. To all his friends in Ohio and North Carolina, “I will see you again.” A special Thank you to my friend Smooth for staying with me during my transition to my final resting place. He is preceded in death by his brother Michael Scott; father-in-law Ken Morgan; and dad in love Bill Russell.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Myra Etta Taylor Russell; children Holly Deetz (Noah), Samantha Brown (Cory), Christina Christopher, and Bradley Walton; grandchildren Tori Ladd, Olivia Section, and Cade Brown; best friend who was like a brother to him, Brian Giddens; brother-in-law Shawn Morgan; best friend Mark Benfield; along with many family and friends that loved him dearly.
At the request of Larry, there are no formal funeral arrangements planned at this time. A family-led celebration of his life will be planned at a later time.
