Larry “Moe” Charles Taylor, age 75, of Bessemer City passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 15, 1950, to the late Harry “Bill” Lee Taylor and Carolyn Cudd Taylor. Moe attended Gaston College and worked at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. He was an active member of the Whetstone Masonic Lodge #515, where he forged strong bonds with like-minded individuals who shared his values of fellowship and service. Moe also enjoyed going on adventures with his motorcycle enjoying the thrill of the open road and had a keen interest in collecting firearms. Along with his parents, Moe is preceded in death by his wife Betty Taylor; brother Thomas “Tuck” Steven Taylor; and sister Linda Taylor Day.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister Deborah Taylor Ruff; nieces Tessie Ruff and Laura Starnes; nephews Robbie Ruff and Josh Day and wife Carrie; great niece Ruby Lynn Day; his best friend that a guy could ask for Gary Autry; friend Bob Tedder and Nancy England; along with many others that loved him dearly.
A memorial service with Masonic rites to celebrate Moe’s life will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 11:00 am at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Westview Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association.
The family would also like to say a special Thank You to the many caregivers who have helped Moe in the last few years, especially the Splawn family.
