John Roberts

John Roberts, 77, of Bessemer City, passed away at Wendover Hospice House on October 24, 2024. He was born on January 5, 1947, in Newport Pagnell, England to the late Cyril Roberts and Doreen O’Grady.

John loved to sing in the choir as a young boy with his parents. As a young man, he would be singing in pubs as an entertainer. He honorably served in the British Navy. He worked in mine shafts as a tunnel blaster in England, Scotland, and Wales for 20 years. John designed and built Cathleen’s art studio. He was Summa Cum Laude graduate at Gaston College and received a Human Services Degree. He also received a diploma in Homeopathy and loved natural healing. He was an excellent and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Cathleen Louise Roberts; sons, Timothy Gray Roberts, Simon John Roberts (Kay); three brothers; one sister; four grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends that loved him dearly.
