Jessica Nicole Wilson, 33, of Bessemer City, went home to her Savior on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025. Born with a heart full of love to share, Jessica graduated from UNC Charlotte to make education her life’s work. She shared her gifts of love with students in several schools across North Carolina, most recently at Shelby Middle School where she taught 7th grade ELA. She was well known for loving her students deeply and supporting them beyond her classroom walls. She loved life and shared laughter with her host of life-long friends. She enjoyed pool days, beach trips, and vacations spent in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She was devoted to her beloved dogs, and her heart and home were always open to any animal that needed her care and affection.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William “Bill” and Frances Wilson, Rev. Robert “Bobby” and Betty Bates, Aunt Judy Bates, Uncle William Wilson Jr., and niece Mira Frances Wilson. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her parents, Ben and Jeanette Wilson of Bessemer City, Honorary “Mama” Bessie Bryant-Blanton, brothers Justin (Danielle) Wilson of Winston Salem, and Jacob (Briana) Wilson of Blacksburg, SC. She is also greatly missed by the lights of her life: her nieces and nephews Makinzy, Finley, Amos, Callie, and Emmaline. Of all her roles in life, being Aunt Jessi was perhaps her greatest joy.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Second Baptist Church in Cherryville. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm, followed by a service at 3:00 pm with Pastor Nick Seaman officiating with remarks from her father, Ben Wilson.
The family deeply appreciates the love, prayers, and comfort given during this time of great loss.
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:30-31.
