Hubert Glenn Newton, 83, of Bessemer City passed away on February 17, 2026, at Robin Johnson House. He was born on August 31, 1942, to the late Lee Newton and Betty Rushing Newton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Shirley Newton.

Hubert loved spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Mary Ann Acuff (Billy) of Bessemer City; brothers, Lee Newton (Mary) of Washington State and Johnny Newton of West Virginia; sisters, Betsy Hewitte of Florida, Kathy Wasoba of Kentucky, and Paula Lipgens of Florida; grandson, Steven Acuff (Katie) of Grover; great grandsons, Jason Acuff, and Raylan Acuff.

Hubert‘s graveside service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Westview Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Gomez officiating. The family will receive friends after the graveside service.
