David Wayne Walters of Mount Holly, North Carolina, passed away September 22, 2026, in Belmont, North Carolina, he was 65 years old. David was born on May 6, 1961, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Joseph Walters and Frances Sanders Walters.

David was known for his good heart, friendly and caring nature. He never met a stranger, which earned him the nickname “Gabby.” He had a way of making people feel welcome and comfortable wherever he went.

David enjoyed watching NASCAR races on the weekends and loved spending time outdoors fishing for anything he could catch. Some of his best memories were made while fishing alongside his brother, Robert, creating special moments they would cherish.

David is survived by his son, David Joseph Walters; his daughter, Bailey Moore; his brother, Robert Walters (Lynn), including many extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents and his siblings, Michael Joseph Walters, Karen Chapman and Rebecca Reid. 

A private burial will be held at a later date, to honor the life of David Wayne Walters.
