Christopher "Chad" Short

Christopher “Chad” Short, 45, of Kings Mountain passed away on June 9, 2025, at home. He was born on August 24, 1979, to Loyd Christopher Short and Virginia Lynn Short.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, and uncle, Mark Short.

Chad loved everyone and it didn’t matter who it was. He would find a way to help others, and he would do anything for anyone. He was a protector, and he made sure to protect his family. Chad enjoyed music, art, and he traveled to Phoenix Arizona to see the shows. He was a loving father and son that would be greatly missed. He knew a lot of people and he would make sure to stop and talk. Chad’s love language was picking and joking around with everyone. He was a kid at heart.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents; sons, Jordan Short (Morgan), Jeremy Short (Abbe); daughter, Cecilia Short (Gage Whitaker); brother, Casey Short (Victoria); sister, Stephanie Broome; grandchildren, Tony and Isaac Short; numerous nieces and nephews; along with numerous of great friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm on June 16, 2025, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Casey Short officiating.

Chad's funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm.

Interment will follow at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made on the social media fundraising account to help with funeral expenses.
