Brenda Joyce Lee Woodard, a beloved mother, grandmother, Nana, and great-grandmother, and a longtime resident of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, passed away on June 11, 2026. Born on January 26, 1947, in Johnsburg, New York, Brenda was the daughter of the late John Wesley Lee and Joyce Caleethith Haas Lee.
Brenda was a supervisor at Curtain & Drapery Fashions, Inc., where she excelled in leadership and service. She had a love of the mountains that brought her joy as she often took drives to the Tennessee to enjoy the serene beauty.
Brenda treasured the holidays when the entire family would come together for dinner, creating memorable moments. She took great delight in caring for her grandchildren, showering them with love and affection, and cherishing each visit with them. Her dedication extended to spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, always placing family at the heart of her life.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey "Jeff" Allen Williams and his fiancé, Michelle Moss; her daughter, Lisa Renee McGruther; her stepchildren, Bill Woodard and Shelley Ahr. Her grandchildren—Kenney Eaves, Jr., Jennifer Williams and Jordan McGruther; her great-grandchildren, Hailey, Destiney, Aliyah, “lil” Kenney, and Jeremy, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, William "Roy" Woodard, her parents, and her brother, John Wesley Lee.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, June 19, 2026, at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, 730 Gastonia Hwy, Bessemer City, NC 28016.
Brenda Joyce Lee Woodard’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion remains in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
