Alberico P Diflorio

Alberico P Diflorio, 95, of Gastonia passed away on December 24, 2025, at Belaire Health Care Center, Gastonia. He was born on February 2, 1930, in Viticuso, Italy to the late Antonio Diflorio and Carmela Iannetta.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maria Molti, brother, Angelo Diflorio, sisters, Maria, Pierina, Irma, and Albina.

Alberico loved gardening but especially growing grapes and fruit trees. He enjoyed going fishing. He adored his family and friends. He always helped many of them throughout his life. Alberico came to North Carolina to work with his uncle Antonio Janetta (Iannetta) at Tony’s Ice Cream in Gastonia.

Those left to cherish his memory include his partner, Rachel Pennington; daughters, Carmela Diflorio Broome, and Michelle Diflorio; brother, Antonio Diflorio; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 am on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home.

Alberico’s funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Dennis Gomez officiating.

Interment will be at Clingman Memorial Gardens, Blacksburg, South Carolina at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 23, 2026.
