Alan Lindberg Wylie, 69, of Bessemer City passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born on May 26, 1956, to the late Albert and Martha Wylie and he was a member of First Baptist Church of Bessemer City.
He worked at the Osage Mill and then he worked for Firestone for 31 years. He loved to work outdoors planting a garden and flowers. He really enjoyed eating at all of the buffets which made him happy. Alan loved to go fishing, and he enjoyed going to the flea market. He was a wonderful brother.
Left to cherish his memories are his brother James (wife, Sheila); nieces, Madison Horne (Ethan), Megan Wylie; and Heather Blake; nephew, Robert Ware; great niece, Georgia Rae; very special friend, David Croft.
Alan is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Martha Wylie; brother, David Wylie; and great niece, Marla Wylie.
He passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was a true Christian and he loved Jesus.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 11:45 am on Friday, January 30, 2026, at First Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Loftis, Reverend Dickie Spargo, and Reverend Chris Doster officiating.
Alan’s funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm.
Interment will be at Westview Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
